Copyright and ownership claim of “Tintumon” – our response

Recently some people are trying to claim the copyright and ownership of our sms hero Tintumon.
When Tintumon.com was launched in November 14th – childrens day of 2009, Tintumon was just another name in the SMS world of Malayalees. We dont know who created the “name” Tintumon. But it is through us Tintumon got its present status. We feel proud for the fact that Tintumon.com played a crucial role in the growth of the favorite character of Malayalees.
Tintumon.com started with a competition to attract new people to the world of Tintumon. We offered Rs.10,000 for the best tintumon joke and it was a new trendsetter in the online world of Malayalees. What we witnessed was may be the first crowdsourcing+youthsourcing website of Malayalees.
Our designers gave an identity to Tintumon which is used by hundreds of websites, blogs, orkut communities and facebook pages. We never tried to stop it, even though the copyright of the graphics of Tintumon that you can see in Tintumon.com belongs to Foradian. Because we know the fact that those who are using our version of Tintumon graphics are not our enemies. But our fans.
But the recent developments to take copyright and ownership of Tintumon is alarming to the Tintumon fans. Instead of chosing a win-win strategy to market their product, these people are trying management and business ethics of 90s. Dear friends, this is 21st century. This is the age of social media. This is web 2.0. Here a brand is not marketed by its owners. The brand is marketed by its customers and users.
To be frank when we started Tintumon.com, we also thought about owning the brand Tintumon. But after seeing the support and love of people for this character, we understood no one can own it. TINTUMON BELONGS TO MALAYALEES ALL AROUND THE WORLD. We decided to keep Tintumon opensource and you might have noticed that we never placed any third party advertisements on this site.
Let us ignore these people who are trying to take over the character Tintumon. We think they are looking for publicity by initiating a controversy with our Tintumon. If they really want to claim ownership, let them try. And we foradians will be doing our level best to keep tintumon free and opensource. Hope you will support us.

who r these people ?…. when tintumon came to the limelight and began its branding to the glory , some anonymous people came to claim the property….. till date when tintumon was not so famous, people didnt talk a word and now when it is making a hit , people are coming for claiming the property…. this is the property of massess…. keralites who day n night share jokes for tintumon….. as now foradian has given the tintumon an identity and made it popular among netizens and offline community…. we tintumon supporters wont allow any one to claim the right…. we support foradian for making the promoting tintumon and tintumon will be keralites passion … promoted by tintumon fans ……
